Alphonse Rochet bought Chateau Malbat in 1865 during the reign of Napoleon III and also during the phylloxera epidemic. In spite of the fact that these were troubled times for the wines of Bordeaux, Alphonse succeeded in building the foundations of the vineyard, which has since been passed on from generation to generation. Today, Fabienne, Martine, and Daniel Rochet manage the family estate and intend to pass it on to the next generation.
